Kaano-ano ni Marco Sison at Joma Sison si Christmas Sison?
Lynn and I, over Y!M the other day:
Lynn: "How was yer christmas?"
Me: "Better than usual. I was happy."
Lynn: "How come?"
Me: "I guess it's because I didn't want to be sad."
And it's true. There was a lot of drama everywhere, and I just didn't want to get myself caught up in any of it. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with the people closest to me. I was even able to get all of them presents, and I got a bunch of really wonderful things as well.
Oh, and the office annual office Christmas costume party was loads of fun:

(The theme was Disney characters. In fairness, I actually won a thousand-peso consolation prize for my costume, which I only made on the day itself, using a car seat cover for my breastplate.)
The whole family was in Laguna on Christmas Day, and I had this idea of taking all my cousins out for a movie. I don't know what I was thinking, as there were eight of us, with seven guys (my little sister, the youngest, is the only girl in the generation).
I ended up babysitting them for most of the rest of the afternoon, navigating through the jam-packed mall, trying not to get anyone lost, running around Time Zone, etc. I was so fricking exhausted at the end of the day. Sabi ko nga sa nanay ko pag-uwi, dinudugo ako sa kanila.
At least
Icay was really well-behaved. She just clung on to my hand the whole time, and quietly enjoyed the movie when we finally got to the theatre.
Just before the film started, she told me that she was cold. I put my arm around her, and I guess that's everything a boy needs to be happy on Christmas.
Greatest hits
life of the party.
"
The Doppler Effect at Pisay. Siling giniling, siling giniling!
Ang pangarap ko sa buhay. Hehe.
"
I would take her to the Bay to watch the sunset, and then I would take her to this place in Mabini where they served the best dimsum in Manila. Then I would make the "To siomai love for you" joke, even if it's corny, just for the cheap smile I would get out of her when I made that joke, and really, how could I ever resist seeing that smile on her face again? And remember that extraordinary something about her that I couldn't figure out? I would have spent my whole life trying to figure it out."
"
So Frank, Ivan, JAm, Rico, and I were at the FHM party last night. Alekos was originally supposed to go, but yesterday he sent me a message: 'Shit, ngayon ba yun? Sorry can't come, something came up.'"
"
She's the new girl in Eat Bulaga, the one who's making every fanboy today say, 'Toni who?'"
"
When Samuel Ong declared to the media that he possessed the 'Mother of All Tapes' he said he feared for his life, he implored for protection from Susan Roces. You know, because Susan Roces is such an all-powerful, uhm, what is Susan Roces again? I mean, Ong does know that even though people call her 'Queen of Philippine Showbiz' she isn't really a queen, right? I wish she had turned him down, just to see if Ong would ask Dolphy next (because, you know, he's the 'King of Comedy').
"(And then I wish Dolphy would turn him down so he'd be forced to ask every other celebrity, and they all turn him down until Ong is forced to ask someone like Jay-R, who's the 'Prince of R&B'.)"
"I've been thinking about how our President would be able to get out of this mess, and I spent the majority of the last week racking my brains for the answer. And then I finally figured it out.
"Two words:
Sex video."
"
It's such a comfort to go to a Bayang Barrios gig, like I did last night at the Conspiracy Cafe. When she starts singing beautiful songs about love (yes, love!) like Joey Ayala's 'Walang Hanggang Paalam' or 'Malayo Man, Malapit Din' (the theme of Pinoy Abroad), you'd have to convince me that angels weren't the least bit involved. Something so divine couldn't merely be pedestrian, right?"
"
Ganito raw talaga sir kapag nagda-drugs eh."
"
Minsan iniisip ko, ang lovelife ko, parang basketball team ng UP."
"
Mas masarap magmahal ang taga-UP."

Updates sa buhay
I had wanted to blog, believe me. I would say I was busy, but that was only half of it. Sometimes I just couldn't piece the right words together, but most of the time I just get this nagging urge to write about something I promised myself I wouldn't write about because (a) it's probably totally inappropriate; (b) I'd probably end up writing something really stupid; and, (c) we'd all end up with the same usual conclusion (I'm a pussy) after reading what I would have written.
Anyway, the same usual things happened during the time I was away:
-- I bought a bunch of CDS (off the top of my head, My Chemical Romance, Pupil, Ultraelectromagneticjam, the first two Parokya albums - Khakhungkhernitz and Buruguduystunstugudunstuy, Itchyworms, and greatest hits albums from FrancisM and Teeth).
-- I read a lot of books (off the top of my head, Snow Falling on Cedars, Angela's Ashes, Sting's memoir Broken Music, the Monty Python bio Life of Python, The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing, Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair, re-read How to Be Good, Watchmen, A Confederacy of Dunces, The Infinity Gauntlet, currently reading Milan Kundera's Book of Laughter and Forgetting, I probably forgot a couple).
-- We launched a bunch of websites for
StarStruck,
Mulawin the Movie, and
Etheria.
-- I turned 24. The birthday this year was great, hung out with friends from the office, had a nice little dinner with
Luz, and downed macho mugs at Quattro with the boys. It was pretty happy, except for the fact that [...] which made me a little sad, which made me realize that I really, really [...].
-- Was a judge at
the Philippine Web Awards. No, I don't know why either. Yep, I really don't comb my hair.
Nothing particularly interesting, really.
